Why Sanklofa?
The word Sankofa West African in decent comes from a philosophical writing system called Adinkra symbols. The wisdom of these symbols derive from the Asante people. Sankofa symbolizes the importance of learning from the past. Translated it means literally “Return and get it.” The point in learning form our past is to create a brighter future and the youth are our future. If our youth are in trouble so is our future. Creative outlets helps to mend troubled minds and so Sankofa looks to provide that outlet

Behind the Scenes of My Home Page
Sankofa Youth Development offers after school programming were youth receive tutoring, art and environmental education. We provide tutoring in math, science and english during our homework help time. We also provide a broad spectrum of education in the creative arts, environmental Ed/ adventure, and community service. Though the arts are our primary focus.
