I feel that art is very necessary because it gives you a way to express your thoughts and feelings that are built up in side of your soul and gives you the ability to let them free.
History behind Sankofa Youth Development(SYD)
Sankofa began with a hand full of students then grew in number and mission. Our fist field trip with the first ever Sankofa Art Counsel to a Youth art exhibit in Augusta Georgia. The boys had a ball. To our next one hopefully sooner than later to the Columbia Museum of Art we are still going thanks to the support of local churches and creative active supporters like our friend Jackie. Thanks Jackie!! From all of us at “Sankofa Art”.
